Sam Johnstone has swept the board at West Bromwich Albion’s end of season awards. The Albion goalkeeper, who has also received the good news on Tuesday that he has been included in Gareth Southgate’s provisional England squad ahead of the European Championships this summer, has collected the players’ player of the year, the supporters’ player of the year and the PFA Community Champion awards.
Sam Johnstone said: I’m delighted and very proud to be given these awards. It means so much when it comes from your squad, the fans and of course our fantastic Foundation. The last year has been a big learning curve for me, going up against some of the best players in the world, and to receive recognition at the end of it is a big boost.”
