BOSS Ralph Hasenhuttl confirmed Che Adams would miss Saints’ final game of the season at West Ham on Sunday due to a groin problem. The Austrian manager did however insist the frontman will be fit for the upcoming European Championships for Scotland. Adams had to be substituted at half-time during Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat to Leeds United, coming off in place of Danny Ings. And Hasenhuttl insisted they would not risk the Leicester-born frontman, who was this week named in Steve Clarke’s squad for the summer international tournament.

Ralph Hasenhuttl said: “Che cannot play on the weekend because he has a small groin injury, so he will also definitely be out. It is five to 10 days, so his chance for the weekend is a small one, but we didn’t take the risk because we know he has the Euros coming up, which for him is a big tournament.”

The Saints boss did however reveal Oriol Romeu had a chance to feature for Saints this weekend for the first time since February. Spaniard Romeu had been training with the south coast club this week. Will Smallbone remains unavailable with a serious knee injury.
