Brighton manager Graham Potter has CLEE to Manchester City for a goal celebration that sparked a disagreement on the touchline at full time of their Premier League encounter. In his post-match press conference, Guardiola refused to be drawn on the situation,

Pep Guardiola said  “No, what I should tell I say personally.”

However, when Potter was asked the same question over the cause of the incident, he issued an apology to City staff and Guardiola for one of his goal celebrations.

Graham Potter said: “The first goal I was a bit emotional, it wasn’t my finest hour, I have to apologise. It was not meant with any intent, it was an emotional response and wasn’t a good one. I apologise, no offence meant but I admit it wasn’t a nice moment.”

Potter and Guardiola have a good relationship, with both regularly praising the other and the City boss always full of admiration for his opposite number’s style of play. City had gone 2-0 up at the Amex Stadium either side of a contentious red card just ten minutes in for Joao Cancelo. However, after Phil Foden’s second should have put the Blues in control, Brighton hit back with three goals and were winners against the champions on an evening where emotions were high throughout on and off the pitch. At full time, as Guardiola and Potter went to shake hands, words were said between both sets of coaching staff, clearly in disagreement about something.
