Roy Keane was Man of the match as Gary Crosby snatched a premier league lifeline for Nottingham Forest with his first goal for almost a year. Crosby struck in the 70th minute to take all three points for his side and dealt a huge blow for European chasers QPR. Forest was out of the bottom three for the first time in 169 days and Brian Clough would have been deeply indebted to his £5 million rated Irishman who switched to the centre of defence and martial the entire defence and midfield.

Earlier that week Clough had criticized Keane for his lifestyle choices and suggested that he should get married. But he also knew that if there was a man that could save Forest from going down that season it was going to be the talismanic Irishman.
