Albion head coach Graham Potter admits that Joel Veltman has an outside chance of facing West Ham at the Amex on Saturday. The defender missed just his second Premier League game for the Seagulls this season in their 2-1 defeat to Wolves, after having started in their previous 11 games.
Graham Potter said: “We hope so (he will be back for West Ham) he will it was just a tight calf, a strain on it. He has an outside chance he could be back for West Ham.”
In his absence Alireza Jahanbakhsh was handed his first league start since December at wing back. However, after putting in some good deliveries including the one which led to the corner that Lewis Dunk scored the opening goal from, he was sacrificed in the second half after the Albion skipper was sent off. But Potter was impressed with his contribution after a slow start.
Graham Potter added: “I thought he was doing well and contributed well in the first half. I thought it was a bit of a slow start from him, but he grew into the game and contributed going forward. But as soon as we went down to ten men, we felt we need to put a couple of midfield players on for some attacking players.”
