Albion head coach Graham Potter has given his view on ‘speculation’ linking him with Tottenham.
Graham Potter said: “I think that is the challenge of being a football coach in the modern day to be deal with speculation that is both positive and negative. A few months ago I was answering questions about whether I had the support of the chairman. So, you have got to take these things with a pinch of salt. My focus is on here and I am doing as well as I can. I feel I have the support of the board, the players and the staff. We are in a really exciting moment in terms of we have done a lot of work and we want to carry that on, we haven’t finished anything and there is still a lot to do and I am really happy here so. It is nice for Paul to say that, but he didn’t have to, but it is nice.”
Potter is one of the bookies favourites to become the next permanent manager. However, chief executive and deputy chairman Paul Barber yesterday revealed they had received any approach on the head coach and nor would they let him go if someone were to enquire about him. But Potter believes dealing with ‘speculation’ is part of his job as a modern-day football coach.
