Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Premier League clash with Sheffield United next weekend is set to be rescheduled.
EFL spokesperson said: “As a mark of respect, EFL matches scheduled for 3pm on Saturday 17 April will be moved to avoid a clash with the funeral of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The EFL will now work with its clubs to determine at what time the matches will be played, giving consideration to the timing of the service. An announcement will follow in due course.”
Wolves host the Blades at Molineux in a Saturday 3pm kick-off which is due to be broadcast on Sky Sports. However, the Premier League are in discussions with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport over rescheduling it to avoid clashing with the funeral of Prince Philip.Wolves’ match with Sheffield United is the only Premier League fixture due to begin at 3pm on Saturday.
