Manchester United star and former Leeds United player Eric Cantona had been cleared by the West Yorkshire police who were going to take no further action following complaints against the player. The Frenchman was reported to the police by Leeds’s supporters for alleged spitting as he ran off the Elland Road pitch after the goalless premier league draw between the sides a couple of weeks earlier.
Although the fan had already declared that he would go to the court if the police took no action, no video evidence was found of the claim and was likely to not have any legs in that controversy.
