Manchester City “totally dominated” Leicester City, said Kevin De Bruyne. De Bruyne hit the crossbar for Pep Guardiola’s side before goals from Benjamin Mendy and Gabriel Jesus inflicted a 2-0 defeat on the Foxes at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. And speaking after the final whistle,
Kevin de Bruyne said: “I thought that was really good today, especially the first half we totally dominated. They had the once chance that was offside with Vardy. But basically it was one team playing. Second half they did a little bit better I think, Leicester. But I think if you look at the 90 minutes it was 2-0. I think we deserved even more goals.”
Both sides had goals disallowed. Fernandinho had a goal disallowed after his first-time effort from 30 yards found the bottom corner – but Sergio Aguero was standing in an offside position and ruled to be in Kasper Schmeichel’s eyeliner. Jamie Vardy had a goal ruled out for offside in injury time at the end of the first half.
