Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl reached a century of games in charge of Saints with victory over Sheffield United.
Ralph Hasenhuttl said “Hopefully I have enough energy for the next three years”
A 2-0 victory over the Blades at Bramall Lane thanks to goals from James Ward-Prowse and Che Adams ensured Saints ended their miserable run of nine league contests without a win. Since taking over in December 2018, the Austrian manager has won 38 games in charge, drawn 22 and lost 40. Reflecting on his time at the helm after bringing up triple figures,
Ralph Hasenhuttl said “You said it, ups and downs. We had some very beautiful times – sunshine! And sometimes it was not so nice. But this is what you have to expect when you take over such a club. To be honest, wins here make more fun than anywhere else because it is every time something special for us.”
Prior to joining Saints, Hasenhuttl managed the likes of RB Leipzig, Aalen and Ingolstadt before opting to ply his trade in England. He signed a four-year contract extension with the St Mary’s side in June 2020.
Ralph Hasenhuttl said “I enjoy every day here working and hopefully I have enough energy for the next three years. It’s by far the most (games) I’ve ever had in a club so far. I was always stopping earlier because I was empty, running out of energy. But hopefully this doesn’t happen here.”
