Sean Dyche says Nick Pope is ready to return to the Burnley line up for Saturday’s clash against Crystal Palace. The keeper missed Burnley’s FA Cup fifth round defeat against Bournemouth on Tuesday, but Dyche confirmed that the England international has returned to training ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park.
Sean Dyche said “Corky and Popey have recovered and trained today, that’s good news. Charlie Taylor is getting fitter and will be tough and go. Robbie Brady is similar but different to Charlie [Taylor], it’s the risk and reward of playing these guys. Woody is a doubt for the weekend. Josh Brownhill has settled down. It was a soft tissue injury so we’re pleased with that but it has kept him out a lot longer than we thought. But he’s settling down now so he’s certainly in with a chance for the weekend.”
Burnley can at least be comforted by the fact that their six current injury worries pales in comparison to the 10 players Palace are without – though James McArthur and Joel Ward could both make a return to the squad for Saturday’s game.
