Graham Potter admits star centre-back Adam Webster remains doubtful for this weekend’s Premier League fixture with Aston Villa. The Seagulls have as many as six first-team players out injured with Webster the latest after rolling his ankle against Burnley last weekend. Webster, 26, who was a summer transfer target for Villa in 2019, limped off at Turf Moor and hasn’t trained since while he missed last night’s FA Cup defeat at Leicester. Providing an update ahead of his side’s Saturday night showdown with Villa,
Graham Potter said: “On Adam Webster, we will take a decision at the last minute, I would say doubtful but wouldn’t rule him out.”
Graham Potter said: “He took a step back, as he was getting closer to coming back. That is what the time has been. We err on the side of caution. He is making good progress now and not far away but we have to be very careful.”
Potter, meanwhile, looks like he’ll have midfielder David Propper (hip) back, though, and
Graham Potter said: “Davy Propper trained today (Thursday) and so we’ll see about him. I think he’ll be available in the squad on Saturday.”
Potter, meanwhile, dished out praise Villa’s way during his 4pm press conference and said how Smith’s side have “recruited and invested well” while he signalled out Emiliano Martinez,
Graham Potter said: “The goalkeeper has made a big difference.”
