Jose Mourinho is warning his players they will be in ‘big trouble’ if they arrive at Bramall Lane thinking they are playing the worst team in the Premier League. The Spurs boss made the claim speaking at his press conference earlier ahead of his clash with United on Sunday. The Blades secured their first league win of the season against Newcastle in midweek but remain rooted to the foot of the table. They are currently on five points, but a win against Mourinho’s men could lift them off bottom spot if West Brom lose their fixture at Wolves. Spurs have lost just three times in the league this season and are currently sixth in the table. However, although the visitors will be heavy favourites to return with all three points, he says United’s position in the league table does not do them justice.
Jose Mourinho said “I don’t look to the table, Of course, I look but I go deeper than that. They’re not the worst team in the Premier League at all. They’re a much, much, much better team than what the table says, you analyse their matches and many times the opponent was not better than them. Many times it was one of the small big details that decides the points, decides the score, decides the table. Many times they lose 1-0, they draw 1-1, they are a very good team. If in our mind we’re going to play the worst team in the Premier League we’re going to be in big trouble. I focus on two matches we have to play against them and I’m totally convinced we have to play well to win those matches against them.”
