Nuno Espirito Santo has reiterated that Diogo Jota’s summer transfer was the best thing for Wolves, Liverpool and the forward himself. Jota swapped Molineux for Anfield in the transfer window and he has quickly made an impact on Merseyside, scoring freely in the Premier League and in Europe. The Portuguese has recently suffered an injury set-back, though, and he will be missing for the next couple of months or so, but still, Liverpool are very excited by the addition to their group, based on what they’ve witnessed so far. Jota’s form has inevitably led to questions regarding Wolves’ sanctioning of the deal; were they right, in hindsight, to do it? Do they regret the sale? Nuno, though, has insisted once again that, while he acknowledges the undoubted talent Jota possesses, a parting of the ways was timely.
Nuno Espirito Santo said “No, [I’m] not surprised at all, The quality and the talent and the dedication that Diogo has is amazing. I’m pleased Diogo is having an impact on Liverpool. I think he is in the right place at the right moment of his career so I wish him all the best. At the same time we thank him for all the good things he made for Wolves.”
