Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admitted after winning 1 – 0 against Tottenham that he thought his side looked exhausted at the weekend. Liverpool won all 3 points to extend their lead to more than 13 points but their performance was far from their best of the season. The Reds were fortunate that Tottenham were not clinical in the final stages, as Jose Mourinho’s side had plenty of chances to take at least a point.
Klopp said: “I said to the boys that they looked a little bit too exhausted in this game, but we are humans and humans are weak. But later we are sat in the dressing room and everybody was still alive and still breathing, so there is still more to come and that is what we have to ask of ourselves.”
Klopp was raging for the majority of the second-half due to the sloppiness that was being evidenced, and Jordan Henderson and Virgil van Dijk both seemed deflated when departing the pitch, almost as though a loss had been suffered.
Only a disastrous run of form can stop Liverpool winning the league now, and Klopp is trying his best to keep the squad motivated ( despite physical demands with style of play) to deliver Liverpool its maiden premier league title.
