I’m the best man for the job says Everton’s manager Howard Kendall

Howard Kendall was in no mood to turn his back on the challenge at Goodison Park. He accepted that the pressure was mounting on him after an FA Cup defeat against Wimbledon.

Howard Kendall said “My enthusiasm for the job in hand is as great as ever. My feelings for the club match those of the most fanatical of Evertonians. I know what it must be like for those people. I know how disappointed they are. I accept that the present situation is not good enough. But surely it is better to have someone in the job who understands how they feel and knows exactly what is needed to put things right.”
