#mustread #PremierLeagueStories on Jan 3 1993 – Cup success will spark our league survival – #StuartPearce of Nottingham Forest

Stuart Pearce Nottingham Forest

England skipper Stuart Pearce was banking on Nottingham Forest’s cup exploits triggering their bid for premier league survival. Pearce-inspired Forest, who were already in the quarter-finals of the Coca Cola Cup, pulled off a 2-1 third-round FA Cup victory over Southampton. Pearce said “We are in the business of winning and we will take it in any competition that we can. We got the breaks against Southampton and scored two fine goals but we’ve got to make sure we go on from here and use this win as a base.”
