Theo Walcott says he is “enjoying the moment” back at Saints and described his return as “a bit like a film”. Unbeaten in his three comeback contests, almost everything has gone to script for the 31-year-old since heading back to St Mary’s after 14 years away – having sealed a season-long loan move from Everton last month. And with Saints flying high in fourth spot in the table, Walcott is keen to get back in action after the international break – starting with a trip to Wolves on Monday (8pm).
Theo Walcott said: “It’s only been three games and I’m just enjoying the moment and being at the club – it’s changed massively. Something just feels right about being at Southampton at the moment. Every time I look at the badge, it means so much more to me for whatever reason. Coming from the ranks at a young age, not being able to play in the Premier League with them and always wanting to. Having that chance to now – it’s come round full circle, a bit like a film I suppose. I am dead excited to get going again. Our game has been moved to the Monday but I am just eager to play games.”
