Aston Villa goalkeeper Les Sealey who was on loan at Birmingham had accepted a contract to sign for Manchester United till the end of the season. The 35-year-old player had earlier won FA cup and European Winners’ cup with Manchester United under Alex Ferguson. He was set to spend the remaining season at Old Trafford on loan before accepting another contract on a free transfer. Ferguson wanted him to be back at the club as an understudy to Peter Schmeichel.
