Paul Pogba believes Manchester United were too passive in possession during their defeat by Arsenal. Pogba told that United did not create enough chances to score and challenged himself and his teammates to produce more consistent displays. Asked why United’s performance level dropped so dramatically after the Leipzig win, Pogba was stumped for answers.
Paul Pogba said “If I had the answer to that, I would tell you. Details made us lose the game and we have to do better. To be better with the ball, because we weren’t dangerous with the ball today, we didn’t create chances like we should. We need to win at home, which is what we should do. We have to work at this and find out and change that. We cannot play unbelievable one game and the bad the next game. We cannot score five goals and then not score a goal. We have to be more consistent than this. We have to work hard on the details. We have to work on this and find out why we’re not good enough. We have to be more consistent home and away, that’s how we’re going to climb the league. By winning, by being more clever. We have to improve and learn from these mistakes.”
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s penalty secured a deserved win for Mikel Arteta’s side at Old Trafford, with United failing to win a home league game for the fourth match in succession this season. After cruising to a 5-0 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League in midweek, the defeat came as a shock to the system for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his players.
