David Moyes has remained coy on news that he could be offered a new and improved contract at West Ham after steering the team to an impressive start to the new campaign. The fixture computer handed the Hammers a terrible deal as the 2020/21 campaign got underway but Moyes’ side have belied the odds and picked up eight points from their first six matches. After defeats to Newcastle and Arsenal to get the season underway, Moyes’ side are unbeaten in their last four which has included victories over Wolves and Leicester and securing excellent points draws against Spurs and Man City in their last two outings. His current deal expires at the end of this season having penned an 18-month contract to replace Manuel Pellegrini in December 2019, sacked after a run of two wins in 12 games and the Hammers tumbling into the relegation zone.
David Moyes said “I am really enjoying West Ham. It is a great club, I have a good relationship with the owners, I think we are trying to put things in place not just for now but for the future as well. But look, there isn’t any pressure on anybody, when the time is right. Let’s wait and see, we have only won two and drawn two so let’s see what happens over the next few months.”
