Roy Hodgson revealed in his pre-match press conference that Tyrick Mitchell is a doubt to face Wolves on Friday night. Mitchell has started every game in the Premier League for Palace this season in the absence of Patrick van Aanholt, who made his own return from injury as a substitute in the 2-1 win over Fulham last week. The young left-back has been one of the big bright spots for Hodgson so far, with some impressive performances in Palace’s decent run of form. However, Hodgson stated in his pre-match talk with the media that they will need to assess a knock picked up in training on Wednesday before they travel to Wolverhampton.
Roy Hodgson said “It’s just the long-term injuries really to Wayne Hennessey and Connor Wickham, We’ve also of course got the injury to Joel Ward and we’ve now got to assess Tyrick Mitchell tomorrow before we travel because he took a knock in training yesterday. James McCarthy’s back in training, As well Gary Cahill’s back in training, James Tomkins is back. Jordan [Ayew] is fine, as is Jack Butland. Getting Van Aanholt and Clyne back to compete, but now Joel is injured and possibly Tyrick. But I’m not making too many complaints, the squad is as big and competitive as I’ve seen it.”
