Frank Lampard has confirmed that he has close to a clean bill of health ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Manchester United, although goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga will miss out with a shoulder injury.
Frank Lampard said “Both [Thiago Silva and Pulisic] are fine,” Lampard said. “We’ve got a pretty clean bill of health other than Kepa who has a shoulder injury so won’t travel. Only other player out is Billy Gilmour who is not far away. Petr Cech is not coming in backup goalkeeper capacity.”
The Chelsea head coach will have all six summer signings available for only the second time after they featured for a brief period of the second half against Sevilla in Tuesday night’s 0-0 draw in the Champions League. But the Spanish goalkeeper, who would have been on the bench, is ruled out because of an issue picked up in training. Thiago Silva fell awkwardly during the Group E opener at Stamford Bridge but will be available, while Hakim Ziyech continues to find sharpness following close to two months out with a knee problem. Christian Pulisic has also shaken off a knock sustained in midweek. Billy Gilmour remains a couple of weeks away from a return to training following knee surgery but his rehabilitation is progressing well.
The trip to Old Trafford comes at the start of a hectic week on the road for the West London club with a trip to Krasnodar of Russia on Wednesday before another Premier League trip north to Burnley tomorrow week.
