Mikel Arteta Arsenal
Arsenal has commenced its summer transfer activities by offloading eight players as manager Mikel Arteta, alongside sporting director Andrea Berta, prepares for another significant transfer window. The club has confirmed the departures of Harrison Dudziak, Sebastian Ferdinand, Cam’ron Ismail, William Lannin-Sweet, and Joshua Nichols, who have secured moves to new clubs on free transfers. Additionally, Samuel Chapman and Samuel Onyekachukwu have been released.
Joshua Nichols said: “It’s hard to put into words what this club means to me. This hasn’t just been a team I’ve played for. It’s been a second family, a place where I started as a little boy, made lifelong memories, and shared unforgettable moments both on and off the pitch with my brothers! Over the past decade, I’ve experienced the highs, the lows, the victories, the disappointments, and everything in between. Through it all, my love for this club has never changed. Wearing this badge has always been an honour, and every time I stepped onto the pitch, I gave everything I had because this club means so much to me. I want to thank every teammate, coach, supporter, and, most importantly, my family for making these years so special. I loved every single moment. Once a Gunner, always a Gunner.”
Joshua Nichols added: “I’m grateful to every coach, staff member, teammate, and supporter who has been part of my journey. Thank you for the memories, lessons, friendships, and unwavering support through every high and low. Wearing this badge has been a privilege and something I’ll always be proud of. Once a Gunner, always a Gunner. Most importantly, thank You, God, for Your faithfulness, guidance, and every opportunity along the way.”
The 20-year-old goalkeeper Joshua Nichols stated: “I’ve taken the ‘best step’ in my career and that ‘great things are achieved by taking bold risks’.”
Joshua Nichols was the first to publicly reflect on his departure, expressing his deep connection to the club and gratitude for the experiences gained during his tenure. His heartfelt message was met with support from fellow Arsenal players Myles Lewis-Skelly, Jurrien Timber, Reiss Nelson, and Tommy Setford, who responded with red heart emojis on social media.
Meanwhile, Samuel Chapman did not publicly comment on his exit. However, it was announced earlier that he has joined the Georgia Southern University Men’s Soccer team in the United States.
As the summer transfer window opens on June 15, Arsenal is poised to make significant investments, with Mikel Arteta’s spending as head coach expected to surpass £1 billion. The Gunners are currently enjoying a successful season, competing strongly in the Premier League, Champions League, and Carabao Cup. The club aims to secure major silverware, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all developments, including potential VAR controversies, standout performances, and fixture challenges.
