Brenden Aaronson
Brenden Aaronson has enjoyed a standout season with Leeds United, marking what many consider his best campaign in a Leeds shirt. The American midfielder’s performance was highlighted by a prolific winter period, where he netted three goals and provided two assists over six weeks. Despite facing some criticism from fans earlier in the season, Aaronson has ended the campaign on a high note with four goals and five assists in 30 Premier League starts. With the US national team selection for the upcoming World Cup on the horizon, Aaronson is poised for a significant role.
Brenden Aaronson said: “I’ve developed a ton, I think. Early on I think I had to pull my sleeves up and that I have to give more and more, and I did that. Throughout the season I’m just proud of myself through all the stuff that I’ve been through, through all the things that have happened. I’ve kept my head, I kept going and put my head down and kept working on things that I have to work on, and I think a lot of things that I worked on came through the season.”
Brenden Aaronson added: “For myself, it’s football, it’s ups and downs. You go through so much in your career, and yeah, I’ve known that I have to go through things. My parents always tell me that your career’s not just [going up], it’s always ups and downs. For me, I just know that I had to keep my head on and keep going, and you work hard and train every day, and just keep a good attitude.”
Aaronson’s reflections come after Leeds United concluded their season with 11 wins, securing their place in the Premier League by finishing eight points clear of the relegation zone. The midfielder’s journey this season has been one of perseverance and self-improvement, as he navigated through periods of fan discontent and personal challenges. His ability to maintain a positive outlook and work ethic has been pivotal in his development and contribution to the team’s success.
Looking ahead, Aaronson is optimistic about the future, both for himself and for Leeds United. With the backing of the 49ers and ambitions to establish Leeds as a Premier League mainstay, Aaronson believes there are no limits to what the team can achieve. His commitment to pushing boundaries and striving for excellence reflects the collective mindset of a team eager to build on their achievements.
