Tottenham Hotspur’s loan players have been making waves across various leagues, with many showcasing their talents as the season draws to a close. As Spurs face potential relegation, head coach Roberto De Zerbi is set to evaluate his squad, including those who have been out on loan, to determine their future roles within the team. The performances of these players could significantly influence their prospects at the North London club.
Alejo Veliz said: “A dream night, a special night, 100 matches with the club of my life, 100 days filled with so many emotions before stepping onto the pitch wearing this jersey, always trying to give my best and more to leave this institution where it deserves to be, with successes and failures, but always with love, heart, and dedication, as it so often demands. Thank you all for the love, the affection, and for supporting me to give my all on the field. I know there will be many more, and I will continue writing history with my glorious @rosariocentral.”
Alejo Veliz, the 22-year-old striker, played a pivotal role in Rosario Central’s 4-0 victory over Universidad Central, marking his 100th appearance for the club. His performance helped secure a spot in the Copa Libertadores round of 16. Veliz is set to join Bahia at the end of the season, with Tottenham having agreed on a £7.8 million deal.
Luka Vuskovic said: “I’m torn. On the one hand, I’m happy because a lot of what was agreed with Tottenham has worked out in Hamburg. But I am also sad because I would very much like to stay here. It’s well known that it is my wish to play for HSV alongside my brother Mario, but in football, you can’t have everything you want. From this summer onwards, I will be a Tottenham player again.”
Luka Vuskovic concluded his season with Hamburg in the Bundesliga, where he made 30 appearances and scored six goals. The 19-year-old centre-back expressed mixed emotions about returning to Spurs, torn between his desire to stay at Hamburg and the opportunity to play under De Zerbi.
Mikey Moore said: “For me now, it’s hard because it’s the same as for me last year. A new manager [Thomas Frank] was in at Tottenham and I had to go back in and see what he was saying about me and then see what everyone was doing. To be honest, I think it will be the same sort of process.”
Mikey Moore, who spent the season at Rangers, reflected on his development and the uncertainty of his future at Spurs. The 18-year-old impressed with 11 goal involvements in 47 games, earning the PFA Scotland Premiership Young Player of the Year award.
Dane Scarlett, Kota Takai, and Manor Solomon also made notable contributions during their loan spells. Scarlett scored a crucial goal for Hibernian, Takai faced challenges with limited appearances at Borussia Monchengladbach, and Solomon provided an assist in Fiorentina’s win over Juventus.
As these players return to Tottenham, their performances on loan will be crucial in shaping their futures at the club. De Zerbi’s assessment this summer will determine whether they can secure a place in the first team or continue their development elsewhere.
