Vitor Pereira
Nottingham Forest are gearing up for their penultimate Premier League match against Manchester United, with the pressure of survival now behind them. Head coach Vitor Pereira is eager for his team to finish the season on a strong note, aiming to extend their unbeaten run to ten matches in their final two fixtures. A significant boost could come from the potential return of Morgan Gibbs-White, who has been sidelined due to a facial injury sustained against Chelsea.
Vitor Pereira said: “He started to work with the team today, with the mask. Let’s see. It is strange when you use the mask. But I spoke with him and he said he was OK with the mask, no problem. We will see if he is ready and in condition for the next game.”
Gibbs-White, who has been a key player for Forest, is eager to return to action and make an impression ahead of the World Cup. He is reportedly on England manager Thomas Tuchel’s 55-man long list for the tournament. The playmaker’s form prior to his injury saw him shortlisted for the Premier League Player of the Season award, highlighting his impact on the pitch.
Vitor Pereira added: “He wants to prove himself every time. He wants to get every chance to prove himself and prove he has the quality and talent to be there.”
On Gibbs-White’s award nomination, Vitor Pereira said: “He deserves everything. He is a top player and he deserves everything life and football gives to him. He’s a fighter. He has a lot of talent. He is a leader. He deserves everything, in my opinion.”
In addition to Gibbs-White, winger Dan Ndoye and midfielder Ibrahim Sangare are also making strides in their recoveries. However, Murillo and Ola Aina have been ruled out for the upcoming clash against Manchester United.
Vitor Pereira commented: “Dan Ndoye started (training). I think Sangare will be tomorrow. That’s all. Murillo out, Aina out. In this moment I think Dan Ndoye, Morgan and Sangare will be training tomorrow.”
Regarding the final game against Bournemouth, Vitor Pereira stated: “I really don’t know. They are improving but I don’t know. It is not a time for risks. It is about the medical department.”
As Nottingham Forest prepare for their upcoming fixture, the potential return of key players could provide the necessary boost to conclude the season on a high note.
