Manchester United
Manchester United’s young talent, Kai Rooney, was among several players to extend their congratulations to fellow youth player Jaydan Kamason, who recently secured a new contract with the club. The deal will see Kamason remain at Old Trafford until the summer of 2028, with the possibility of a further one-year extension. Kamason, a full-back, has been a part of Manchester United’s strong Under-18 squad and made appearances on the bench during the Europa League quarter-final and semi-final matches under manager Ruben Amorim.
Kamason’s journey with Manchester United began when he joined the club at the age of 10 from grassroots outfit Stockport Vikings, as part of the Emerging Talent Programme (ETP). He has since become the first player from this initiative to sign a professional contract with the club. Despite missing parts of the current season due to injury, Kamason has managed to make 15 appearances for the Under-21s.
After signing his new contract, Kamason expressed his gratitude and excitement on social media:
Jaydan Kamason said: “Proud moment for me and family to sign a new long-term contract at this special club. We thank God and keep pushing.”
The announcement was met with a wave of support from his teammates. Kai Rooney shared a video of a man applauding, while Jack Fletcher responded with a fire emoji, and Tyler Fletcher sent a red love heart emoji, highlighting the camaraderie within the team.
U21s head coach Adam Lawrence also praised Kamason’s recent performances, particularly his goal against Arsenal in the FA Youth Cup last season:
Adam Lawrence said: “Jaydan has been in real good form of late, so he’s in that position where he’s put in some real strong and consistent performances, as you’d expect from a second-year U18 player here. He’s in a real good space. He’s such a fantastic kid, he’s got real good athleticism and he likes to get forward on the outside. And listen, he’ll be watching that goal back for a while.”
Kamason’s ability to impact the game in the final third has been a standout feature of his play, showcasing his athleticism and attacking mindset. As he continues to develop within Manchester United’s youth ranks, the club and its supporters will undoubtedly be eager to see how his career progresses.
