In the summer of 2025, Jorginho, the former Chelsea star, married Irish singer and entertainer Catherine Harding. The couple shares a son and Jorginho has embraced a close bond with Harding’s daughter, Ada, from her previous relationship with actor Jude Law. However, their family life recently faced unexpected challenges during a trip to Brazil.
Jorginho said: “A large security guard came over to their table while they were still having breakfast and began speaking in an extremely aggressive manner to both my wife [Harding] and my daughter, saying that she shouldn’t allow my daughter to ‘disrespect’ or ‘harass’ other people. My daughter was extremely shaken and cried a lot.”
Chappell Roan shared: “I’m just going to tell my half of the story of what happened today with a mother and child who were involved with a security guard, who is not my personal security. I didn’t even see, I didn’t even see a woman and a child like…no one came up to me, no one bothered me, like I was just sitting at breakfast in my hotel. I think these people were staying at the hotel as well. So, the fact that, like, a security guard, who was – I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child, I did not. They weren’t doing anything. It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe, because there’s no action even taken.”
Harding insisted: “The guard was certainly not employed by the hotel and expressed hope that Roan ‘learns a lesson’ from the incident.”
The incident unfolded when Ada, Jorginho’s stepdaughter, reportedly walked past Roan’s table, smiled, and continued on without any interaction. However, a security guard approached them, leading to a distressing situation. Roan clarified that the guard was not her personal security and she was unaware of the incident until later. Harding, on the other hand, expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of the situation, emphasizing that the security personnel was not affiliated with the hotel.
Jorginho and Harding’s relationship began in 2019, shortly after his separation from his ex-wife, Natalia Leteri. Harding, who also has a child from her previous relationship with Jude Law, has been residing in Brazil since Jorginho’s transfer to Flamengo in 2025. Despite the challenges, Jorginho remains committed to his family, ensuring quality time with his stepdaughter and their shared son.
