James Maddison Leicester City
James Maddison is making strides in his recovery from an ACL injury, as evidenced by his recent social media activity. The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder shared a TikTok video documenting his visit to Manchester for advanced testing and exercises, marking the final stages of his rehabilitation. This development comes as a significant boost for Spurs, who are preparing for a pivotal match against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
James Maddison said: “ACL testing after 6 months. Six months post-ACL reconstruction and we’re off to Manchester to do some testing in this cool room with loads of cameras and sensors. There are places in London you can do it but this one had the best reviews and I know players that used it in the past. Basically, I had loads of sensors stuck all over my body. You do some jogging, jumping, change of direction and hopping and they will check on the camera how your body is moving to see if I’m offloading the knee? Am I weight-distributing both sides equally? It’s all valuable information as it shapes the rest of the rehab of what I need to work. We’re six months in and we’re getting there.”
Maddison’s return could be a timely boost for Tottenham, who have been grappling with several injuries to key players. The club has recently seen positive developments with players like Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero, Conor Gallagher, and Lucas Bergvall making their comebacks. These returns have contributed to a more optimistic atmosphere at the club, especially following encouraging results against Liverpool and Atletico Madrid.
Tottenham’s upcoming fixture against Nottingham Forest is critical, as both teams are embroiled in a relegation battle. Spurs currently sit on 30 points, with Forest and West Ham trailing closely behind. A victory for either team could significantly alter their standings, potentially lifting them above Leeds United.
In other team news, Joao Palhinha remains a doubt for the match against Forest, pending the completion of concussion protocols. Meanwhile, other injured players like Mohammed Kudus, Ben Davies, and Wilson Odobert are still in recovery, with Odobert targeting a return in late 2026. Dejan Kulusevski, who has been sidelined for ten months due to a knee issue, is also unlikely to feature this season. Sweden’s national team manager, Graham Potter, provided an update on Kulusevski’s condition, noting that while progress is being made, it is slower than anticipated.
As Tottenham prepares for this crucial match, the potential return of James Maddison could provide the team with a much-needed lift in their fight to avoid relegation.
