John Terry
Chelsea legend John Terry, known for his fierce rivalries with Arsenal during his playing days, recently took to social media to commend young talent Max Dowman for his remarkable achievements. Terry’s praise comes at a time when Chelsea is navigating a challenging period, including a recent defeat to Newcastle United.
John Terry said: “Max Dowman, what a player by the way – 16 years of age, almost 17. Absolutely incredible. I watched him play against Chelsea about a year ago, and I’ve not seen anyone glide past people like this man does other than Messi. But super, super talent, big win for them as well today.”
Terry also reflected on Chelsea’s recent 1-0 loss to Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge, where Anthony Gordon proved to be a significant challenge for Liam Rosenior’s side.
John Terry added: “Really disappointing for Chels as well, more importantly, after a tough week of losing away to PSG. We face PSG again, which is going to be a tough game at home, with all to play for for them, and we need to be pretty much on the front foot as well and take the game to PSG in the week. That’s gonna be tough for us, cause no doubt they’re just gonna sit back, soak it up, like teams do in the Champions League. But disappointing to drop points in the league as well. We’ve got a tough couple of weeks ahead of us. Hopefully, we can get back to winning ways as soon as possible.”
The recent victory for Arsenal, combined with Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with West Ham, has allowed the Gunners to extend their lead over Chelsea by nine points at the top of the Premier League standings, with just seven games remaining. This development adds pressure on Chelsea as they prepare for their upcoming second-leg round of 16 Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen. Both teams head into the reverse fixture on an even footing following a 1-1 draw at the BayArena earlier this week.
Sky Sports continues to provide extensive coverage of the Premier League, broadcasting at least 215 live matches each season, alongside other sports such as Formula 1, darts, and golf.
