Dejan Kulusevski Tottenham

Dejan Kulusevski has not featured for Tottenham Hotspur in ten months following surgery, and his eagerness to return to the pitch is palpable. Recently, Kulusevski shared an Instagram post featuring a Bible verse, “Jesaja 40:31,” which reads, “…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Additionally, the post included the song ‘For a Better Day’ by Avicii, hinting at his frustration with the prolonged injury lay-off but also suggesting optimism about his return.
Igor Tudor said: “He’s had really big problems as you know, but he’s positive and also the doctors are positive, so we’ll see next week how he’s going. We hope [he can play this season]. In this moment, we don’t know.”
Kulusevski’s return would be a significant boost for Tottenham, especially as the team endures a challenging period under interim head coach Igor Tudor. The Lilywhites have suffered six consecutive defeats, conceding 18 goals in the process. The recent Champions League last-16 first leg against Atletico Madrid saw Spurs concede a third of those goals, although Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro managed to secure a lifeline for the second leg.
The upcoming Premier League match against Liverpool at Anfield adds to the pressure, with Tottenham grappling with multiple injuries. Cristian Romero and Joao Palhinha are potential absentees after sustaining head injuries. Tudor, who has lost all four matches in his temporary role, expressed the severity of the situation.
Igor Tudor said: “It’s actually a doomsday scenario. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. For our goalkeeper [Kinsky] it’s terrible as well of course. You don’t wish that on anyone. For 15 minutes we just conceded goals that you really can’t do anything about. Right now we’re just taking blow after blow after blow. It’s just really tough, and now we also have an important match this weekend that I won’t be able to play in because I’m suspended.”
The current period is undoubtedly challenging for Tottenham, with Tudor acknowledging the difficulties faced by the club and its players. Despite the setbacks, the potential return of Kulusevski offers a glimmer of hope for the team as they navigate this tumultuous phase.
