Liam Rosenior
Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has acknowledged the tough task his team faces as they prepare to take on Burnley in their upcoming Premier League fixture. With Chelsea vying for a Champions League spot, every match is critical, and Rosenior is keenly aware of the challenges that lie ahead.
Liam Rosenior said: “It’s February. We need to win our game, it’s as simple as that. We need to do our job. It’s not going to be simple. Burnley went away to Crystal Palace and won. You’ve watched Wolves [draw with Arsenal], this is a strong league. You’ve watched Wolves yesterday in their performance and we have to take care of our business regardless of what time we play. I thought Wolves were outstanding yesterday. I watched the game, this is such a strong league now, every team can beat everyone. That’s why the league is so close in terms of points between so many teams. What we have to do is we have to focus on our own performance, we have to make sure that we prepare ourselves right. But the way I like to do it is to be consistent in our process, whether we’re playing Wolves, whether we’re playing Burnley, whether we’re playing Manchester City, Arsenal, our process is the same. It has to be that way for you to be consistent in your performance.”
Asked whether Burnley’s cup upset will have any bearing on Saturday’s game, Rosenior added: “It’s the beauty of the cup, isn’t it? Credit to Mansfield. But right now it’s going to be a difficult game to win, it’s as simple as that.”
Rosenior’s comments reflect the competitive nature of the Premier League, where any team can pose a challenge on any given day. Chelsea’s focus remains on their own performance and maintaining consistency across all matches, regardless of the opponent. This approach is crucial as they navigate through a tightly contested league, where the difference in points between teams is minimal.
Burnley’s recent victory against Crystal Palace and their cup success have demonstrated their capability to upset stronger teams, adding another layer of complexity to Chelsea’s preparation. Rosenior’s emphasis on consistency in preparation and performance underscores his strategy to keep Chelsea in the race for a top-four finish.
As Chelsea prepares for the match against Burnley, the team is aware of the need to stay focused and execute their game plan effectively. With the league being as competitive as it is, every point is vital in the pursuit of Champions League qualification.
