Nottingham Forest is set to face a significant weather challenge as they prepare for their crucial match against Braga at the Estadio Municipal de Braga. Heavy rain is forecasted for Thursday, potentially impacting the pitch conditions for the 8 pm kick-off. The ground has already been heavily soaked prior to matchday, raising concerns about the playability of the pitch.
Sean Dyche said: “It’s heavy at the moment. A lot of rain is forecast tomorrow so we’ll have to wait and see. It (the pitch) is heavy. It’s playable at the moment, but it is quite saturated. Hopefully there’s no problem with the game.”
The Reds, who recently secured a 0-0 draw against Arsenal in the Premier League, are looking to maintain their momentum as they aim for progression in Europe. A win against Braga would allow Nottingham Forest to advance directly to the round of 16, avoiding a two-legged play-off. Dyche emphasized the importance of focusing on the immediate task at hand, stating that the team must not get carried away and ensure they complete the job first.
Dyche continued: “Ideally we want to finish in the top eight. It’s not easy and we still have two tough games to go. We want that to continue. But first thing’s first, it’s not getting too carried away with that and make sure we get the job done in the first place.”
The upcoming fixture against Braga is critical for Nottingham Forest, as it could significantly impact their European campaign. The team is also preparing to host Ferencvaros next week in their final league phase fixture. As the weather poses a potential hurdle, Forest will need to adapt quickly to the conditions to secure a favorable result.
