Mikel Arteta Arsenal
Arsenal’s impressive form in the league continued as they maintained their unbeaten streak with a goalless draw against Nottingham Forest. Despite missing key players like Hincapie, Calafiori, and Dowman, the Gunners had Cristhian Mosquera and Kai Havertz available for selection. Arsenal’s strong performance in the league phase has positioned them well, with the potential to secure home advantage in the knockout rounds if they finish in the top two.
Mikel Arteta said: “Yes, for that, because every game in the Champions League, when you have the opportunity to achieve something, you have to grab it, and tomorrow we’re really going to have to earn it against a top, top side. We know that and then we prepare every game, obviously, to win it and the urgency is going to be the same tomorrow.”
Arteta continued: “A new manager as well, I think he has given them some of the things in their identity and the way they play. I think it goes for all the nines in the league and how difficult it is to play that position nowadays with the physicality, with the dominance of the centre-backs and the quality of them and the lack of spaces as well in most of the times during the match for them to exploit.”
Reflecting on the draw at the City Ground, Arteta added: “Well, we weren’t satisfied with the results, obviously. Watching the game back more and then with the other results even more, obviously.”
Arsenal’s journey in the Champions League continues as they prepare to face Inter Milan, a team they encountered last season. Arteta emphasized the significance of consistency and the challenges forwards face in the modern game due to the physicality and tactical acumen of defenders. The Gunners are not only excelling in the Premier League but are also making strides in the Champions League and Carabao Cup, indicating a promising season ahead.
The North London club remains focused on their objectives, aiming to secure major trophies this season. With a dedicated fan base and a clear strategy under Arteta, Arsenal is poised to tackle any challenges that come their way, whether it be VAR controversies, fixture congestion, or standout performances from unsung heroes.
