Harry Wilson Liverpool
Leeds United are reportedly reigniting their interest in Wales international Harry Wilson, who has been in exceptional form this season. The midfielder, currently with Fulham, is nearing the end of his contract at Craven Cottage. Leeds had previously been close to securing his transfer last summer, but the deal fell through on deadline day. Since then, Wilson has scored eight goals and provided five assists in 24 appearances, making him a hot prospect for the upcoming transfer window.
Marco Silva said: “We spoke about Harry Wilson and I said the fans should enjoy, we are taking the best from him and we speak with his representatives as well. But zero chance he leaves the club in January, to clarify, we have to enjoy him for one month, two months or two years if we can renew with him.”
Wilson’s current form has undoubtedly caught the attention of several clubs, yet Fulham’s manager Marco Silva has made it clear that the player is not available for a January move. Silva emphasized the club’s intention to enjoy Wilson’s contributions for as long as possible, potentially extending his stay if a contract renewal can be agreed upon.
Meanwhile, Leeds United’s manager Daniel Farke is also looking to bolster his squad during the winter transfer window. Farke has expressed a keen interest in adding quality players to his team, particularly in the creative offensive positions, such as a winger or number 10 role.
Daniel Farke said: “There is no need to be afraid of quality players. Every one that could help us is important for us. We are a bit thin in creative offensive players, like a winger number 10 position. And you know what is healthy and good, good for the group. So I’m never afraid of quality, and also numbers of quality. We won’t extend the group. I don’t expect a big turnaround. The core bones are good and the direction is good. There is always space for one, two, perhaps three positions. But I would also rule out that we do more.”
Farke’s comments suggest that while Leeds are open to new additions, they are cautious about making too many changes, focusing instead on strengthening specific areas. This approach aligns with Farke’s belief in maintaining a stable core squad while making strategic enhancements.
In terms of player exits, Leeds have confirmed that Harry Gray has joined League One side Rotherham United on loan for the remainder of the season. Additionally, Jack Harrison is reportedly close to securing a temporary move to Fiorentina, with the final details of the transfer still being negotiated.
As the January transfer window approaches, Leeds United’s strategic moves in the market will be closely watched, particularly their pursuit of Harry Wilson, who continues to impress with his performances at Fulham.
