Quilindschy Hartman has taken to social media to address the swirling rumors regarding his future at Burnley, following reports of interest from Ajax. Despite Burnley’s depleted squad, which saw youngster Oliver Pimlott included among the substitutes against Newcastle United, Hartman was notably absent from the matchday lineup. The Dutchman has now clarified his position and future intentions in a detailed statement.
Quilindschy Hartman said: “Due to all the reports that have appeared about me in recent days, I would like to let you know how it is through my own channel. Earlier this month, I informed Forza that I was exercising my right to represent myself and that they would no longer have to perform work for me. Why I’ve done that is between me and Forza and I’m not going in any further. After letting Forza know this I have also informed Burnley so that they know that they have to be with me and not with Forza anymore. In the same conversation, I stated that I feel my situation has changed at the club in recent weeks due to personal reasons. I was told not long ago that Ajax were interested in hiring me and that they had also reported to Burnley. When I heard about it myself this came to the media very shortly after and everything was said about me and I received many nasty disappointing messages. Unfortunately, based on information that is incorrect. With this message I would like to make it clear that I am not going to Ajax and that as long as I am a Burnley player I will give everything for the club. We’re in a difficult phase with Burnley and that’s why I found it disrespectful to talk openly on Instagram about any club other than Burnley, but I think it’s good that I clear up this because I’m the only one who knows how it is. I hope everything is clear now and I wish everyone a wonderful 2026!”
Hartman’s decision to part ways with his agency, Forza Sports Group, marks a significant change in his professional representation. He emphasized that this decision was personal and not open for public discussion. Despite the rumors linking him to Ajax, Hartman reaffirmed his commitment to Burnley, stating that he intends to give his all for the club during this challenging period.
Scott Parker said: “Just at this present moment in time, I feel that Q just needs some air and needs some oxygen. I just feel that it’s best for him just to be watching it from afar at this present moment in time. Obviously I’m just trying to manage the situation to give Q the best opportunity to perform at the level I know he can perform at, like I said, in a different environment, a different culture, in a different league. But yeah, I have no doubt he’ll be here with us.”
Manager Scott Parker provided insight into Hartman’s absence, explaining that the player requires some distance to regain his focus. Parker expressed confidence in Hartman’s abilities and his future contributions to the team, indicating that the current situation is being managed to ensure Hartman can perform at his best.
The situation highlights the complexities players face with media speculation and the challenges of maintaining focus amid external distractions. Hartman’s proactive approach to addressing the rumors directly through social media demonstrates a desire to control his narrative and reaffirm his dedication to Burnley.
