Chris Wilder has given an update in Sheffield United’s search for a striker. Their need for a striker was underlined in Monday’s 2-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers when they carved out a number of chances but failed to make them pay. Wilder believes the Blades are short on striking options with captain Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick both being heavily relied upon due to Oli McBurnie’s lack of action and Lys Mousset’s injury.
Chris Wilder said “Yeah, we are trying, It’s an important area of the pitch. We have the skipper and David McGoldrick involved tonight. Oli McBurnie has hardly at any minutes at all and will start this Thursday at Burnley in the cup. He was out on his feet as well and Lys is injured. Definitely. We have created some quite big chances and we are definitely looking to improve. Delighted with what we have brought in but if we can get one more at the top end of the pitch to really give us that quality then we will be in much better shape than when we first started the Premier League against Bournemouth.”
