Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted that they are not losing sight of their need for a new creative player. The club’s transfer focus of late has been on signing a new centre-back with Brendan Rodgers short of numbers in defence for the start of the season, Wilfred Ndidi called upon to fill in alongside Caglar Soyuncu against West Brom. But at the end of the last campaign, Rodgers made it clear that signing a new creative player was his main hope for the window.
Brendan Rodgers said “To challenge the sides above it’s about getting more creativity. We would like more creativity at the top end. Very much so (If he was hoping to get a creative player signed this summer). It’s about looking to improve year on year in terms of our goals scored. We improved last year on the previous year, and (doing it again) is going to be really important for us. We need that bit more creativity, and having that depth in the squad is important. There’s a few areas still that we’re looking at, and if we can improve, then it gives us a great chance to be really competitive.”
