Frank Lampard’s Chelsea has signed six new players, including some of Europe’s finest talents, as the club look to close the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool. Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva have all been signed, and rumours suggest that there could be even more business at Stamford Bridge. But amongst all these incomings, one player whose future is under doubt is French midfielder Ngolo Kante. With many players vying for the same position, he may be offloaded in order to raise funds and free up a squad place.
But after the Brighton match manager Frank Lampard dismissed rumours of Kante leaving the club and said that he still had future at the club. Lampard also spoke about the injury Werner picked up and hoped that he would be fit for the next match.
Frank Lampard said “I think pretty much every club in the world would want N’Golo Kante. I have seen those reports as well. He is an incredible player and person and I certainly don’t want to lose him. He’s fundamental in terms of what I’m trying to do. Timo took a knock when he won the penalty. It’s more of a dead leg we hope. I wouldn’t think too much in terms of next week there but I’d think it was a dead leg, we’ve got a bit of time for him to get right.”
