Harry Kane Tottenham
Bayern Munich’s star striker, Harry Kane, is gearing up to face Chelsea in their Champions League opener at the Allianz Arena. With a storied history against the Blues from his time at Tottenham, Kane is looking forward to the challenge, especially given the animosity he expects from Chelsea supporters. The 32-year-old is keen to add to his goal tally and inflict further pain on Chelsea in one of this week’s most anticipated fixtures.
Harry Kane said: “I think the rivalry was a good rivalry we had, especially early on in my Tottenham career, the [Mauricio] Pochettino era. We had a lot of tough games, good games against each other. I think playing against a Premier League opposition there’s always maybe a little bit more expectation around the game. Obviously, maybe the Chelsea fans don’t like me as much, and obviously Arsenal fans don’t like me as much. But that makes me want to play better, that motivates me.”
Kane is no stranger to the intensity of Premier League rivalries, and the upcoming match against Chelsea is no exception. He relishes the opportunity to face familiar faces, including those he has played alongside for the England national team. The setting of the Allianz Arena, coupled with the presence of an English team, adds a special dimension to the game for Kane.
Harry Kane continued: “There’s going to be some familiar faces that I’ve played against, some that I’ve played with with England. All those things added, it just brings a little something special around the game. I think being at the Allianz, having an English team here, as a team we like to try and stamp our authority on the game, and we’ll try and do that tomorrow.”
In addition to his own performance, Kane also commented on his teammate, Senegal international Jackson, who joined Bayern on loan. Kane has been impressed with Jackson’s adaptation to life in Munich and his performance in training and recent matches.
Harry Kane said on Jackson: “Yeah, he’s been great so far, I think. It was good for him to get 45 minutes on the weekend [against Hamburg]. I thought he looked sharp, I thought he had a couple of half chances there. In training, he’s looked really good. You know, he’s still learning that aspect of it, but as I said after the game, he shows a lot of qualities. He physically is very strong and fast.”
Kane’s remarks highlight the potential of Jackson to make an impact in the upcoming match. However, he also emphasized the importance of not putting too much pressure on the young striker too soon, acknowledging Jackson’s willingness to learn and integrate into the team.
As Bayern Munich prepares to host Chelsea, Kane’s enthusiasm and competitive spirit are evident. The match promises to be a thrilling encounter, with Kane eager to prove himself once again against a familiar Premier League rival.
