ange Postecoglou
Ange Postecoglou, the newly appointed head coach of Nottingham Forest, is poised to make a significant impact at the City Ground. Replacing Nuno Espirito Santo, Postecoglou is set to lead the team against Arsenal this Saturday in his debut match. Known for his trophy-winning career, the former Tottenham Hotspur manager is eager to continue his success with Forest. He inherits a strong squad and aims to build on the foundation laid by his predecessors to achieve silverware for the club.
Ange Postecoglou said: “I’ve said already, I want to win trophies. That’s what I’ve done my whole career and it’s what I want to do here. Every club wants to be successful, but since the president (Evangelos Marinakis) took over this club those ambitions are backed up with actions. Perfect conditions for me. The sense of unity has always been here. If you can harness that, then you can create something special. No one will be able to see your personal information and you will only receive messages from the NottinghamshireLive Reds writers. That isn’t going to happen overnight; they (the fans) are not going to love me from the first day. That’s something I’ve got to earn – their trust and respect. They’ll get behind us, for sure, because they always do. Longer term, I’m going to have to earn people’s respect and trust, as I have everywhere else I’ve been. It’s one of those unique football clubs that if you get that sort of momentum, great things can happen. For the most part, what you see is what you get with me. I’m just very passionate about what I do. I love creating things that are lasting. That’s what I want to do here. All of that takes time. The one thing the fans will know is that if I set my mind to do something, I’ll see it through. Hopefully I can bring some special times to this club. Hopefully they (the fans) will get behind the team, as they always do and they will be excited about the possibilities of what we can achieve.”
Postecoglou’s appointment comes with high expectations, given his track record and the ambitions of club president Evangelos Marinakis. The manager’s focus on unity and creating lasting success aligns with the club’s vision for the future. He acknowledges that winning over the fans will not happen instantly and emphasizes the importance of earning their trust and respect through consistent performances and dedication. As he prepares for his first match in charge, Postecoglou is determined to harness the club’s potential and bring exciting times to Nottingham Forest.
