Nuno Espirito Santo
Nottingham Forest have reportedly entered negotiations with Leicester City to secure the services of left-back Victor Kristiansen. As the transfer window deadline approaches, strengthening the full-back position remains a top priority for the Reds. Despite already adding eight new players this summer, Forest are keen to finalize their squad under head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
Fabrizio Romano said: “Nottingham Forest are in club to club talks with Leicester City for Viktor Kristiansen. Deal on as exclusively revealed in July and now in progress.”
Romano added: “Nothing advanced for Nahuel Molina at this stage as he wants to stay at Atlético Madrid.”
Nuno Espirito Santo said: “We need three players – one more goalie and two full-backs. We cannot live with the fear of if something happens to Ola (Aina) and Neco (Williams).”
He added: “If one of our wingers can play at full-back, I will be the first to say that we need only one full-back. But Omari (Hutchinson), Kali (Arnaud Kalimuendo), Macca (James McAtee), I look at them and they are not full-backs.”
Nuno further stated: “The team needs full-backs. We have Omar Richards and Eric Moreira, who need to move and proceed their careers and be happy, because I cannot give what they need in their careers, which is minutes.”
The 22-year-old Denmark international is among several players being considered by Forest to bolster their defensive line. Alongside Kristiansen, Club Brugge’s Joaquin Seys is also being evaluated as a potential addition at left-back. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid’s Nahuel Molina and RB Leipzig’s Lutsharel Geertruida are on the club’s radar for the right-back position. However, negotiations for Molina have hit a snag, as the player reportedly prefers to remain with his current club.
In the goalkeeping department, Forest are exploring options to provide additional support for Matz Sels. Although Angus Gunn has been signed on a free transfer, Nuno is intent on having three senior goalkeepers in the squad. Getafe’s David Soria is reportedly Forest’s preferred choice for this role.
As the transfer window nears its close, Nottingham Forest are working diligently to meet their squad requirements. The potential acquisition of Victor Kristiansen could be a significant step in achieving their objectives for the upcoming season.
