Kieran Trippier
Newcastle United finds itself at the center of intense speculation regarding Alexander Isak’s absence from the team’s recent trip, with rumors suggesting a possible transfer to Liverpool. However, the club remains unfazed, focusing on its current roster and upcoming challenges.
Kieran Trippier said: “My phone is available 24/7 to Alex – and Alex knows that. He knows I am always there. We are not panicking, Alex has got an injury, and we have to do what we have to here, focus on the games. We focus on the team and the players that are here. It’s not just Alex; Martin Dubravka wasn’t here because of a niggle. Yeah, we stick together, I have always said that ever since I arrived at the club, we travel to South Korea and look forward to the game on Wednesday.”
Trippier added: “Alex has got a thigh injury – that is the reality. He is doing rehab. But we have to do what we have to do with the players we have got, Sean Neave came on and done very well, young kid who has done well. No, they are important – there are no excuses. We’ve had a long journey and we have trained Friday and Saturday, pre-season is about trying different things, different philosophies. People are at different stages of their fitness, people have been away on international duty too. Results are important, but that was a much better display from us than the one at Celtic. We have a lot of things to keep improving and learning, we played well without getting the win.”
He concluded: “I am delighted for Anthony. We know what he is all about. Pace, trickery and you know what he has settled in really, really quickly. He is a funny guy. And we want to add quality. We have certainly added a quality player in Anthony, most importantly he has settled in really quickly.”
Despite the absence of key players like Isak and Dubravka, Newcastle United is focusing on the positives from their pre-season tour. The emergence of young talent Sean Neave and the promising debut of Anthony Elanga, who scored against Arsenal, highlight the depth and potential within the squad. Trippier’s comments reflect a team united in its goals, emphasizing adaptability and resilience as they prepare for the upcoming season. The club’s ability to maintain focus amidst transfer rumors and injuries underscores its commitment to growth and development.
