Theo Walcott has revealed why he joined Everton during an interview with Patrice Evra. The former Arsenal winger arrived under Sam Allardyce in January 2018, and he explained that his soft spot for the club convinced him to move north.
Theo Walcott said “It’s funny, they’re a club I’ve always liked. It happened to just come across (at the right time), the way Big Sam (Allardyce) wanted me. The club at the time were going through a transition stage. I thought at the time, I want to try something different. Not just that, Everton, for me are a massive club and have ambitions to be even bigger. The players they have, the squad is a fantastic squad. It’s very close and I wanted to be part of that. To be fair, Everton fans have just been brilliant.”
