Marcus Rashford Manchester United
Marcus Rashford has returned to Manchester United following the conclusion of his loan spell with Aston Villa. Despite showing glimpses of his best form at Villa Park, the club opted not to make his move permanent. Rashford, who was a prolific scorer under Erik ten Hag, has struggled to replicate that form recently. His former teammate, Fosu-Mensah, has expressed his desire to see Rashford enjoy his football once again.
Fosu-Mensah said: “I just want him to be happy. Everybody just wants him to be happy. The most important thing is for him to feel good, for him to feel happy. Look, the quality is definitely there. Nobody needs to say anything about this quality, because he’s a top player.”
Rashford’s challenges have coincided with the arrival of Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim at Manchester United. Amorim’s tenure has seen Rashford excluded from several matchday squads, with the coach alluding to potential attitude issues.
Ruben Amorim said: “In January we lost Rashford and Antony and we didn’t bring new ones – was a risk. But there are things here that are more important than to score 10 more goals this season. We are trying to do something that is more important. We can hurt the squad now, but in the future it is going to help the club. So we are on that path.”
Amorim has been candid about Rashford’s exclusion, suggesting that the forward’s training efforts have not met the required standards.
Ruben Amorim said: “If things don’t change, I will not change. It’s the same situation for every player, if you do the maximum and right things we can use every player. You can see on the bench we miss a bit of pace on the bench, but I would put [Manchester United goalkeeper coach Jorge] Vital before a player who doesn’t give the maximum every day.”
Analysis of Rashford’s situation suggests that his future at Manchester United remains uncertain. Despite his undeniable talent, his recent form and training performances have not aligned with the expectations of the current coaching staff. As the club looks to build for the future, Rashford’s role in the team is under scrutiny. His former teammate’s comments highlight the support he has from those who have played alongside him, emphasizing the importance of his happiness and well-being. Whether Rashford can regain his form and secure a place in the first team will depend on his ability to adapt to the demands of the new coaching regime.
