Mason Holgate has said last season’s 12th placed finish was not good enough for Everton and the team are well aware of that.
Mason Holgate said “We’ve already spoken about it and accepted that last season wasn’t good enough. This year we’ve definitely got a point to prove. It’s down to us now to work hard and prove that now. If you look at the talent in our squad, where we finished the season wasn’t where we should have really. We all think and believe that. It’s positive for me but it is what I wanted to be doing, so I couldn’t really sit back and look at it too much. I wanted to play, I’ve had the chance, now it’s down to me to keep getting better. I need to prove that I can do it season in, season out.”
