Ivan Juric, who was officially appointed as Russell Martin’s successor, acknowledged the difficult situation Southampton was in during his first interview as manager.
Ivan Juric said “I am very pleased (to be here). I think it’s a really big challenge for me and my staff. I think we can do great work.”
Juric, expressing his optimism about turning Southampton’s fortunes around despite their poor form, commented on the team’s need for improvement.
Ivan Juric said “I will try to improve the team. I will try to be more aggressive, to do much more pressing and try to be quick, to change the mentality. What is important in football is to play the games for a win. That is my idea of football.”
Juric shared his excitement about upcoming matches and the opportunity to work with Southampton’s players.
Ivan Juric said “My hope is we do well in the games before the new year and take points. Like I said, I want an aggressive team. I think the fans of Southampton will like that. What is important is that we get a few points in the next games. Then we will work to do it much better.”
