Tyrone Mings addressed a mistake he made during Aston Villa’s match against Club Brugge, marking his second appearance post-injury. He made a serious error that led to a penalty for Brugge.
Tyrone Mings said, “If there is something that is going to happen, it is usually going to happen to me.”
Mings discussed his approach to handling emotional highs and lows in games, mentioning his ability to remain calm despite mistakes.
Tyrone Mings said, “I do not participate in the extreme highs or extreme lows of the emotions in the game. I am fairly level-headed and I am fairly unflappable, I think, in terms of riding those emotions.”
He elaborated on not feeling frustrated by the incident, highlighting his resilience and ability to move on from errors.
Tyrone Mings said, “I was not frustrated at what happened itself because mistakes happen. And I think if that was going to happen to anybody, I am happy that it happened to me because I am fairly sure I can cope with it.”
Mings also reflected on his mindset after the Brugge game compared to another match against Brentford, where he performed well.
Tyrone Mings said, “The thing about the Brugge game is that I never came away from that game feeling any differently than what I did when I played against Brentford and got man of the match.”
He noted that after the incident, many did not reach out, as they knew he would handle it well.
Tyrone Mings said, “When the Brugge incident happened, some people did not even bother texting me because they knew I would be fine.”
