Former footballer and pundit, Alan Shearer, was discussing the prospects of Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge this season, specifically focusing on the team’s form and key players like Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka. Despite Liverpool being current favorites, Shearer sees Arsenal as potential challengers if they maintain their form and fitness.
Alan Shearer said, “Liverpool are red-hot favourites to win the title at this moment in time – and rightly so – but I think Arsenal will have a lot to say about it. It will be tough for Arsenal, and they’ll have to be pretty much perfect, but if they can keep Odegaard and Saka fit then I do think they’ll have a lot to say in the title race.”
Shearer then shifted his discussion to the overall competitive nature of the Premier League this season, expressing surprise at Liverpool’s performance despite managerial changes and failed transfer attempts. He also noted other teams’ performances, like Manchester City and Chelsea, and how they fare in the title race.
Alan Shearer said, “Liverpool are really strong and they’ll be there right until the end of the season, I’ve no doubt about it. But there’s no way the title race is over, there’s still going to be twists and turns. Man City got back to winning ways, Chelsea have made an unbelievable start to the season with [Enzo] Maresca. Chelsea are second in the table right now, but don’t think they’ll be able to stay there.”
